Christmas at GAMM: Videogames Become a Celebration

From December 24, 2025 to January 6, 2026

During the Christmas holidays, the GAMM Game Museum of Rome transforms into a place of play, discovery, and shared experiences, with a rich program of activities designed for families, children, videogame enthusiasts, and curious visitors of all ages.
Tournaments, creative workshops, guided tours, and gaming classics will accompany visitors throughout the festive season.

Free guided tours

Every day at 3:00 PM, the museum offers a free guided tour in Italian, included with the admission ticket.
A perfect opportunity to explore the history of videogames and discover the GAMM collection with the museum’s expert staff.

The Grinch Christmas Adventures on the big screen

From December 24 to January 6, visitors can play “The Grinch Christmas Adventures” on Nintendo Switch, projected on a large screen.
A shared gaming experience that fully captures the Christmas spirit and is especially suitable for younger audiences.

Daily special activities

Every day, special activities take place twice daily at 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM, offering fun and engagement for visitors of all ages:

The Big Quiz
A large videogame-themed quiz played on a LED wall, featuring questions, fun facts, and challenges for both kids and adults.

Blind Mario Kart
A pairs mini-tournament: one player drives while blindfolded, the other acts as navigator. Chaos, laughter, and teamwork guaranteed.

Don’t Stop – Just Dance Tournaments
Dance battles on the LED wall for anyone ready to move to the beat.

The Golden Classics
Tournaments dedicated to legendary videogame titles played on the museum’s historic arcade cabinets.

Mario Kart – Snow Track
A winter-themed version of the iconic racing game, created especially for the holiday season.

Workshops for children

Christmas at GAMM also means creativity and hands-on activities, thanks to workshops designed for younger visitors:

Christmas Cubes
Building and decorating Minecraft-style cubes to hang on the Christmas tree.

The Gaming Tree
A creative workshop where children decorate a paper Christmas tree with videogame-themed ornaments.

Daily tournaments

The program also includes tournaments dedicated to some of the most iconic videogames in history, including Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Pac-Man, Karate Champ, Mario Kart Snow, and Just Dance, with special events scheduled on key holiday dates such as December 26 and January 1st.
