Harry Potter Day at GAMM: On August 29, Magic Comes to Rome’s Videogame Museum

Magic exists… you just have to know where to look for it.

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, GAMM, Rome’s Videogame Museum, will dedicate an entire day to the world of Harry Potter, transforming the museum into a place where magic and videogames come together.

From 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, visitors of all ages will be able to take part in challenges, quizzes, tournaments, and themed activities, experiencing a true competition between the four Hogwarts Houses.

A Day at Hogwarts

The day will begin at 10:00 AM with the museum opening and the Sorting into Houses. Each visitor will be assigned to Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff and will receive a sticker indicating their House.

From that moment on, the competition will begin: throughout the day, participants will be able to earn points by taking part in the various activities, contributing to their House’s score.

At 10:30 AM, the gaming activities will kick off, with several stations dedicated to Harry Potter videogames, as well as the Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions tournament, which will take place on GAMM’s large LED wall.

But pay attention to your surroundings: seven Horcruxes will be hidden throughout the museum. Participants will have to explore GAMM and keep their eyes peeled to find them. Each Horcrux recovered will earn valuable points for their House.

Quizzes, Quidditch, and Challenges

At 12:00 PM, it will be time for the first Harry Potter Quiz, featuring questions about the Wizarding World and its characters, spanning the books, films, and videogames.

In the afternoon, activities will resume at 3:00 PM, giving participants another opportunity to play, search for Horcruxes, and rack up points.

At 4:30 PM, it will be time for the second quiz, while at 5:00 PM GAMM’s LED wall will host the Quidditch Champions tournament final.

At 5:30 PM, all point-scoring activities will come to an end: this will be the final opportunity to complete challenges and contribute to your House.

Finally, at 6:00 PM, we will discover which of the four Houses has earned the most points and will be crowned the winner of Harry Potter Day.

Three Prizes for Three Lucky Winners

But the competition won’t be the only way to take home a special souvenir from the day.

All visitors who wish to take part in the final prize draw can register directly at the ticket desk upon entry. Each registered participant will receive a numbered ticket, which they should keep until the end of the event.

At 6:00 PM, following the announcement of the winning House, three lucky tickets will be drawn.

First Prize – LEGO Harry Potter 76419: Hogwarts Castle and Grounds

A magnificent LEGO set dedicated to Hogwarts Castle and its surroundings, perfect for collectors and fans of the saga.

Second Prize – Sorting Hat

The iconic Sorting Hat, straight from the world of Hogwarts.

Third Prize – Platform 9¾ Lamp

A lamp inspired by the famous Platform 9¾, the starting point for the journey to Hogwarts.

A Truly Magical Atmosphere

To accompany the day, the museum will feature a playlist made exclusively of music from Harry Potter videogames, creating a special soundtrack for all the activities.

The program will also be enriched by the presence of cosplayers and other themed activities, organized with the help of organizations specializing in the world of Harry Potter.

The goal is to create a day in which the audience is not simply a spectator, but can become part of the action: choose their House, play, compete, explore the museum in search of Horcruxes, and contribute to their team’s victory.
