This place rocks! My friend and I spent a good hour and a half here reliving our youth and playing games from all eras. It was a thorough exhibition of gaming from the earliest days to the now. I was pleasantly surprised with the sheer amount of games there were to play! I could have spent another hour here at least. But, if you're in the area and looking for something to do that's not staring at the ceiling of another basilica, this place might be for you! Odoardo M. THE MUSEUM
On the ground floor there is the GAMM exhibition route, the museum itself, divided into thematic and chronological areas that explain all the most important stages in the history of video games. GAMM Game Museum
With 150 screens animated by an electronic control system, numerous infographics to explore your curiosity in depth, and thousands of items—including consoles and video games—all waiting to be discovered. In each thematic area, you can also play with the consoles of that period, to experience (or relive) how video games used to be played.
Along the route there is also a stage for presentations, conferences, and events, hosting new and different activities every week.
We wanted to recreate the experience of an old-school ARCADE, where you played with the immortal coin-operated machines like PAC-MAN, DONKEY KONG, and SPACE INVADERS. They were called Arcades, or "Cabinati" in Italy, and this was the place where mom and dad discovered the magic of the first video games.
In this room, everything is just like it was back then. Except for the token, which is no longer needed because all the arcade machines are free to play!
Downstairs there is another large modular space at GAMM, where we host our temporary exhibitions. But not only that: in the EXPERIENCE ROOM (in the DUNGEON?) there are dozens of stations to play with today's consoles and the newest video games; an area dedicated to VIRTUAL REALITY, to try out the most immersive experiences, and also a CINEMA ROOM where you can take a break watching one of the hundreds of documentaries and interviews from GAMM about the history of video games, or attend a screening of a video game-related film. All that's left is to choose what you want to do.
On the upper floor there are two rooms dedicated to children: a colorful and playful space with the museum's staff entertainers, perfect for Parties and Birthdays. All in complete safety.
